Are you as surprised as the rest of us about the recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize? The following are some comments that we found in various nooks and crannies, and other notable places as well.

Observations such as: The inevitablity that Gore received the Nobel Peace Prize. And why not? Most people know that the prize has had very little to do with rewarding true peacemakers. Okay… some of them actually did make huge contributions to humanity, and even to peace. But, the rest…. mmmmm. Consider this:  “In 1939, nominees for the prize included such distinguished fighters for peace as Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler. The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to 95 individuals and 20 organizations since 1901. (Comité International de la Croix Rouge was awarded the prize in 1917, 1944 and 1963; Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was awarded the prize in 1954 and 1981.)

10 million looks pretty good from here. (Wish I had 10 dollars to my name, let alone 10 million.) So, anyway, good for him! He can buy himself into, or out of almost anything now. Not that he couldn’t before.
